Back to Work!

I had just returned from my vacation at Taiwan! It was so sad that the China-loving KMT won the presidential election. Now that they had won, they are no longer saying they love Taiwan and they don't identify themselves as Taiwanese anymore. Now it's "ROC" this and "ROC" that. I think a lot of Taiwanese people felt cheated. The Japanese and American goverments had expressed their dislike of KMT and worry that it will give into China. Any way, I'm usually not so deep in politics, but I'm sure the voice of Taiwan won't be dead on the next election.

I'm very glad, however, that the DPP supporters didn't become the wild dogs like the KMT did after they lost the 2004 election. This time there was no outrageous riots and no one said to boycott the new goverment. I'm glad that the DPP and its supporters have class and are not sore losers.

So that's my rant of the Taiwan elections.

During my stay in Taiwan I had the chance to meet up with a good friend of mine from NTU who is a 7th year med student/intern who rotated through USC last year. It was good times. I also met up with Ivy down south. The weather was on our side for 7 out of 9 days. It was very warm in southern Taiwan and rainy in the north.

Too bad it's back to work now. I'm rotating through Children's Hospital this month, so it's supposed to be busy. I did get some studying done on my long flights, but I still have a lot to go!
