Is it moving time?

When I was in med school at OSU, I started moving things back to LA even 1 year before graduation. I drove back to LA with my car filled with stuff that I probably won't use or miss during the last year at OSU. Right now it's less than a year before I leave OSU again, but I haven't had the time to move any thing back. A lot of things in my apartment will end up being thrown or given away. I probably won't be doing a moving sale like last time. Starting with my next flight back to LA (in October) I'm going to be checking in my large luggages. I need to bring home all the smaller non-essentials throughout the year so that my little Prius can haul the bigger things next summer.

Scrap Computer

While taking out the trash today, I saw a computer system sitting next to the dumpster. I thought, "Wow! I'm either very lucky today or this is just a pile of crap." Well, I didn't wanna hang out at the dumpster too long looking at the computer cuz there were people around. So I quickly hauled my find back to my apartment.

I took a look at the open case. It seems like everything is still intact inside. As far as I can tell (did a quick search online), this is a Pentium III 500MHz computer from the last century. The RAM, mother board, CD drive x 2, floppy drive, hard drive, CPU, wireless Ethernet, sound card, video card, and power supply are intact. I don't know if any of it works, and I guess I'll figure that out piece-by-piece when I have more time in a couple of months. I left the 15" CRT monitor at the dumpster.

Half Way There!

This is the half way point of my fellowship! Just one more Fall and Winter, then I should be back to California. I'm still preparing for my boards in August.

We have just one new fellow this year and her name is Zhang (Snow). So that leaves me, Heather and Snow. That means I'm on consults 4 months this year instead of 3. I'm doing consults this month also, so it's back-to-back from June. I'm already pretty tired.

Last weekend I spent a refreshing weekend at LA! I met up with Ivy, my family and my cousin Alice from Taiwan. She's here to get a driver's license and it looks like she passed it! My mom and bro Jack will take her to San Francisco this coming weekend. I also watched the movie Wall-E and it was a very nice movie. We had a big BBQ at out house and one of my uncles came as well.

In August Ivy's sister will be coming to Illinois with her husband to study for a year. Ivy's niece will come also. Then in September and October I plan to make trips to San Francisco for medical conferences. I'll share photos then!
