Playing with Photoshop

After going through my photos I realized I have over 25,000 digital photos/videos accumulated over 7.5 years! All of my photos are largely straight out of the camera without any post processing. Some are too dark, or the colors are off, and other just look bland. Then I thought I'd play around with Adolbe Photoshop CS2 to see if I can make some of my ugly photos better.

I picked a couple of photos to test out. Here is Grand Teton from Summer of 2005 before Photoshop:
And this is after Photoshop:

This is my buddy Bowser sound asleep on my bed from Summer of 2006 before Photoshop:

Photoshop does take a lot of time. I was thinking of doing Photoshop on only a few select photos.

In other news, my trip to Taiwan has been largely finalized. I'm leaving LA on 3/23 afternoon and return on 4/2 night. I plan on meeting up with Ivy in Kaoshong for the majority of the trip.

By The River

Well it's pretty boring over here in Columbus. It's always like this during the winter months. This is the last 3 day weekend until May. So far this month is pretty warm, but we are expecting a blast of air from Canada to cool us down for a few days. Not expecting much of any snow.

Yesterday I paid a quick visit to Scioto River to photograph some ducks and geese. Its been a while I went on a photo break. I got to see the common Mallard Ducks, seagulls, and Canada geese. There are a few Graylag and Embden geese around. The geese are big and loud. They also have a very nice flying pattern when migrating.

These birds expect you to feed them, because once you pull your car up to the park, they totally surround your car. They will stare at you for about half a minute before figuring that you don't have any food for them and go away. One old lady got food for them when I was there, though.

In other news, I scheduled a vacation between 3/21/08 and 4/6/08! For these 2 weeks I probably will spend the majority of time in Taiwan and a few days in LA. My parents are going back to Taiwan earlier in March for the election, so I'll just meet them there. I will most likely travel with Ivy.

Welcome to the New Year!

Another year seemed to have passed by quickly. It's now the second day of 2008 and I'm about to get on the plane to go back to Columbus. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. This was the second vacation for me since moving to Columbus.

Ivy and I had the same days off of work. We started our vacation off by meeting a few family members, including Stanley and his girlfriend. Then a Xmas dinner together where Ivy bonded with my dogs Bowser and Yoshi. We spent Xmas Eve at Disneyland. It was a pretty cool time to visit due to the special holiday parade.
On Xmas day, Ivy and I went off on our 6 day/5 night southwest road trip. We toured Arizona and New Mexico, but also stayed at Texas and Nevada. The photos are extensive and are included in our photo album. We visited: White Sands NP, Carlsbad Caverns NP, Petroglyph NM, El Malpais NM, Bandera Volcano and Ice Cave, El Morro NM, Grand Canyon NP, Meteor Crater Center, Hoover Dam, and Las Vegas. Of these places, I would highly recommend White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns, Ice Cave and Meteor Crater. The drive was very long, so we only visited one to two places per day.

We capped off our vacation with fireworks at the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
